It has always been a dream of mine to start a business working with pets. Towards the end of 2016, I left the world of non-profit digital marketing and moved to Los Angeles for my partner's career. I took the opportunity to start Out.Dog, a dog walking business in Marina del Rey, CA. It was a risk, and it has been an adventure. In short, this blog is about sharing that experience with you.
The intent of this blog
The world needs more dog walkers
Why would I want to help others start their own dog walking business? I love this job, and I think many others will find this to be a rewarding career. I'm not worried about competition; there is no shortage of dogs that need walks. The more dog walkers there are in the world, the better IMO. A dog owner puts a lot of trust in their walker, and every walker's personality is just as unique as the dogs they walk. If you are a lifelong dog lover, I believe you can make a career for yourself walking dogs.
Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to the Dog Walker Podcast by Ray, the Dog Walker. When I was first considering this business, I would walk my dog while listening to Ray's podcast. I have never spoken to Ray, but he gave me the motivation and direction I needed to get my feet off the ground.
Like and follow my Facebook Page, where I'll post notifications of new blogs, along with photos of my walks, and a variety of other dog related content
